Parker's Tree Walk

This oak tree is very old. We think it is very old because it is big.
Deciduous trees lose all their leaves at the same time of year. The oak is a deciduous tree.

This is a pine tree. It has very rough, thick bark and it is thicker bark than some other trees’. This is an evergreen. That means that it doesn’t lose all it’s leaves at the same time of the year.

This tree has very smooth bark. Some other trees are not so smooth.

This tree was 49-years-old when it was cut down. We know this because we counted the rings.

This is a pine tree that has very small bark because it’s a very young tree.
